Gestalt therapy is a vibrant, creative, and deeply compassionate approach to connecting with therapeutically with others. Our accredited training program spans four years and focuses on building self-awareness, honing clinical skills, and deepening transformative therapeutic presence.
About this event: This free event offers participants the chance to engage in an inquiry-based process that reflects our teaching methodology. During the event, you can anticipate lively and spirited conversations with fellow participants, designed to stimulate new awareness and explore the foundational principles of the gestalt approach.
The evening will provide an overview of the four-year course and an opportunity to meet one of the facilitators from the first year. This will give you a sense of what to expect during the initial year of the program. You will have plenty of time to ask questions about gestalt therapy and the course.
About our Specialist Training: Relational Gestalt Therapy offers a comprehensive postgraduate education that emphasises a holistic and embodied approach to human experience.It is an approach that centres presence, giving equal importance to body, mind and heart. The four-year training program is accredited by PACFA as a Specialist Training (post-grad), and graduates of our program are eligible for PACFA membership and registration. The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) is a leading national peak body for the counselling and psychotherapy profession.
Our training includes an internship with ConnectGround, our community-based clinic. The internship is an apprenticeship in gestalt psychotherapy that provides students with the opportunity work with clients in a supportive and collegial learning environment.
Gestalt thinking has many applications in many settings. Gestalt practitioners work with individuals, groups, teams, families, and couples in private & community practice and in organisations. At its heart there is a commitment to support better relating and living more fully.
Our course focuses on building the skills needed for attuned relationships.
